Help

You may view newly-added articles (“posts”) via the “Recent Articles” entry on the menu bar. The articles are listed in the order that they were published, most recent first. You may request a “feed” of new articles for your news reader via the “RSS” button on the sidebar.

Each entry under “categories” on the right sidebar displays a list of associated articles in chronological order. “Chronology” here refers to the date of the subject matter rather than the publication date. The most recent subject matter date is shown first. Technical note: when you compose an article, you should set the custom field “epoch” to the date (YYYY-MM-DD format) of the subject matter–the WP Smart Sort plugin uses that field to do the chronology ordering.  You must set the ‘epoch’ custom field to have the post appear in the category listing.

You must also set the “category” to one of “TMM Family”, “Emm Family”, etc.

The Smart Sort plugin makes the chronological page sort work. That plugin is notorious for confusing the sort order, which we want to be “descending”. If you try to change the sort order in admin settings, beware that the requested change may not be honored. We workaround the sort problem but manually editing the sort order options in the database.

A note on publication date: when we converted from the old MillerAlbum.com site format, we assigned somewhat arbitrary publication dates to existing articles. However, publication dates for articles published since May of 2012 are valid.
